the fast and the furious

thanks for your messages, guys. even more, thanks for your prayers. my grandfather was not known to be a christian. i only hope that by some chance he accepted christ on his deathbed. it's hard to think about. maybe, through this incident, god's reminding me of the mortality of my parents. my parents have not been known to be christians. as i've shared with you last friday night, my mom's now coming with us to church and loves it. when i was younger, i used to pray more that my parents would accept christ. however, in recent years, i hadn't thought about it as much. maybe i sort of gave up. i'm very happy that my mom's at least coming to church now. i hope she'll fully accept christ someday. sooner would be better.

my grandfather had been in the hospital for several years. however, maybe, through the timing of my grandfather's death, god's reminding me (and maybe also my sister) that my parents need to accept christ to go to heaven. my mom's warming up, now more than ever; but my dad's always been a "tough nut," i guess you say. he borders on being anti-christian, as he doesn't see it as being a practical way of life. i don't think he necessarily has a religion, although he's called himself a taoist on occasion. he does have many philosophies and many good morals, and unfortunately he thinks that's enough to get by. he's very stubborn. i'll pray for him more.

i guess my partial fast has come to an end as of this morning. throughout the three-day fast, i pretty much had one allotted meal each day, so it seemed more like a diet than a real fast. the toughest part was going from yesterday's lunch with my friend to dinner last night with kaela. i'll continue to pray for the grx staff and other who are going on with the fourteen-day fast.
